Who is Muhammad PBUH?

Muhammad Son of Abdullah Born in 570 and left this world in 632 was an orphan child who lived with his uncle Abu Talib. He was adored and praised for his manners so much that people named him ''Truthful'' &''Trustworthy''. He was a member of a well respected Noble family. He is the son of Ishmael Son of Abraham. In a way He is long lost cousin(brother) of Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him).

Here is the family Tree

That is not the only fact. There are more facts which will shock you!

-     He lived for only 62 years. He started preaching Islam at the age of 40. Thats 62 years 40 =  22 years

-     He preached in Makkah for 13 years and only 110 people accepted his message.

-     He did not have one or few but many powerful enemies after him & one of them was his another uncle Abu Jahal. All of the chiefs of all tribes in Makkah were against him preaching against their way of lives. After his uncle Abu Talib who was Chief of his tribe died in 699, he was virtually unsafe in Makkah

Important Events: But He kept preaching the word of Allah as only one Almighty & kept bearing the assaults & insults and bodily harms and a kind of social boycott. He preached His message to 6 people from Madinah while preaching carvans one night. [These people from Madinah had heard about an oncoming of a Messenger through Jews who lived around Madinah.]

Madinah was a battle ground of two tribes since many generations. The people of both tribes were tired and looking for a Noble Person to solve their age old dispute. So they invited Muhammad the last messenger in Madinah. Muhammad sent his companion "Mush'ab bin Umair with these people to preach in Madinah.

Next year 70 people from Madinah came to  meet Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Again inviting Him in Madinah

In year 622 the enemies of Muhammad made a plan to assassinate the messenger(as they murdered Jesus). But Allah told him about it. On 13 September 622 at midnight He left Makkah for forever.

He made his Ali his younger cousin to sleep in his bed(a practise which his uncle use to do, making his son lay in bed in order to keep Muhammad safe). Not only that but he also gave him 'Amanat'(people's belonging which they gave to him in order of safekeeping).

-     What amaze us here, is that the fact that these people defied Him when he preached about one single God and yet he gave him their precious things for safe-keeping(Amanat). Which gave to Ali telling him who each of the things belong and return them back each to their owner.

-     And then he left his house through front door(the only door) and there a dozen of men standing there ready to strike.
But!
They never saw him. Nobody saw him come out & leave.

-     Coming back to the 22 years he served Islam. 13 of which were given in Makkah & yet only 110 people converted(reverted). He preached Islam in his rest of the  9 years in Madinah. Going as far as sending letters to many kings and making lot more new enemies in process.

What He Faced:

Do you know what he went through to preach the message of Islam. He was a rich man settled in his life with a wonderful wife, his daughters married in well respected families. All was good & merry. Restless about the ways of society & people around him & so he use to sit in nearby cave to meditate. And then one day Gabriel visited saying

"Read! in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created-
Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood:
Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,-
Who taught (the use of) the pen,-
Taught man that which he knew not"
[Qur'an, 96:1-5]

long after he started preaching the message which was delivered to him. Calling people toward their lord, one true Almighty. And two of his daughters were divorced. He was subjected to name calling, insults assaults, threats and extreme conditions. He & his followers faced three years of cruel boycott where they were not allowed a single bread to feed. At the end of these three years his uncle Abu Talib died few days later his beloved wife died as well.

When he tried to preach Islam in a nearby town Ta'if. People threw stones at him, he was injured so extremely that his shoes were filled with blood.

He had to leave his homeland, his house his everything.

All for what? What was his message?

"There is but One God Allah!"

Do not make partners with him. everything that Islam has to say comes secondary the first & foremost faith is to believe in One True Almighty.

The Offer of Quraish

There is a famous offer which they made to Prophe in order to stop him from preaching Islam.

One of which is they offered to accept islam for one year & worship none but Allah & next year Muhammad pbuh will worship their Gods & Goddesses. To which He declined obviously But not only that. These verses were were a reply from Allah for the offer

Second famous offer which they made was to stop preaching Islam & they will make him Chief of all tribes & give the most stunning women and lots of wealth. But He replied to offer by saying "

His House:

This is the representation of the house Muhammad PBUH lived in:

"Remember this was the man who was the leader of Muslims around the world. “The personality of Muhammad, it is most difficult to get into the whole truth of it. Only a glimpse of it I can catch. What a dramatic succession of picturesque scenes! There is Muhammad, the Prophet. There is Muhammad, the General; Muhammad, the King; Muhammad, the Warrior; Muhammad, the Businessman; Muhammad, the Preacher, Muhammad, the Philosopher, Muhammad, the Statesman; Muhammad, the Orator; Muhammad, the Reformer; Muhammad, the refuge of Orphans; Muhammad, the protector of Slaves; Muhammad, the Emancipator of Women; Muhammad, the Judge; Muhammad, the Saint. And in all these magnificent roles, in all these departments of human activity, he is like a hero.” (Prof. K.S. Ramakrishna Rao) [Non Muslim]

He PBUH fought many battles but kept none of the bounty, stayed awake all night to pray & cry all night for his Ummah(Us,the last nation which he was sent to).

These are the actual places where Muhammad PBUH lived.

These are some of the things which he used.
His clothing items including Shirt, Turban, Blanket & Stick

His Water Cooler & cup

His Seal, used on the letters

As Muhammad PBUH did not know how to read or write he had his companion to write for him, to whom he dictated his letters & Quran as it was revealed to him. This is one of the letter which were sent to Kings around the world, inviting them to embrace faith of Islam.

“In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
From Muhammad the Messenger of Allah to Negus, king of Abyssinia (Ethiopia).
Peace be upon him who follows true guidance. Salutations:
I entertain Allah’s praise, there is no god but He, the Sovereign, the Holy, the Source of peace, the Giver of peace, the Guardian of faith, the Preserver of safety. I bear witness that Jesus, the son of Mary, is the spirit of Allah and His Word which He cast into Mary, the virgin, the good, the pure, so that she conceived Jesus. Allah created him from His spirit and His breathing as He created Adam by His Hand. I call you to Allah Alone with no associate and to His obedience and to follow me and to believe in that which came to me, for I am the Messenger of Allah. I invite you and your men to Allah, the Glorious, the All-Mighty. I hereby bear witness that I have communicated my message and advice. I invite you to listen and accept my advice.
Peace be upon him who follows true guidance.”
When ‘Amr bin Omaiyah Ad-Damari communicated the prophet’s letter to Negus (Najashi), the latter took the parchment and placed it on his eye, descended to the floor, confessed his faith in Islam and wrote the following reply to the Prophet :
“In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
From Negus Ashama to Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah.
Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah! and mercy and blessing from Allah beside Whom there is no god. I have received your letter in which you have mentioned about Jesus and by the Lord of heaven and earth, Jesus is not more than what you say. We fully acknowledge that with which you have been sent to us and we have entertained your cousin and his companions. I bear witness that you are the Messenger of Allah, true and confirming (those who have gone before you), I pledge to you through your cousin and surrender myself through him to the Lord of the worlds.”
Though few kings honoured the invitation and accepted Islam others did not.

His Golden Words:

Lets judge Him through words that he spoke

The Last Sermon/Speech of Messenger Muhammad PBUH

After praising, and thanking Allah he said:
“O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and TAKE THESE WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY.
O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds. ALLAH has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity. Allah has Judged that there shall be no interest and that all the interest due to Abbas ibn ‘Abd’al Muttalib (Prophet’s uncle) shall henceforth be waived…
Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.
O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah’s trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.
O People, listen to me in earnest, worship ALLAH, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.
All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except bypiety (taqwa) and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.
Remember, one day you will appear before ALLAH and answer your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.
O People, NO PROPHET OR APOSTLE WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the QURAN and my example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will never go astray.
All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O ALLAH, that I have conveyed your message to your people”.

One can heed words of wisdom and guidelines from the last sermon (khutbah) of the prophet (SAWS). His sermons emphasized on the following:
§  Sacredness of a Muslim’s life and property
§  The importance of propagating this message to all others (A Muslim’s responsibility thus does not      end by following the religion)
§  A reminder that everyone is fully accountable for their deeds and Allah (God) will take every               person into account. If everyone heeded to this fact alone, the world would be a much better place       today.
§  “Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you.” These words of the prophet are self explanatory.
§  The prohibition of dealing with interest (Numerous accounts in Quran and Hadith prohibit taking,      giving or being a part of any transaction dealing with interest).
§  “You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity.” These words of the prophet are self explanatory.
§  The awareness of satan and how satan can work to deviate us from the right path and doing evil          things.
§  Treatment of women with kindness.
§  Modesty and chastity in women.
§  The importance of worshiping Allah (saying your five daily prayers (Salah), fasting during the              month of Ramadan, giving charity (Zakat) and performing pilgrimage (Hajj).
§  Equality amongst all (blacks, white, Arabs, non-Arabs, etc.)
§  Islam is the final divine religion (Last prophet and Last Book).

He was a descendant of Abraham PBUH.

Some of His Quotes:

Muhammad PBUH said: "He who is not affectionate to God’s creatures and to his own children, God will not be affectionate to him. Every Muslim who clothes the naked will be clothed by God in the green robes of the Paradise"

T
Muhammad PBUH said: "The man who plants a tree is blessed when people and birds are benefited by its fruits. A man was sent to Paradise, simply because he saved a thirsty dog from death by offering him water and the other was condemned, because he tied and starved a cat to death"

Muhammad PBUH said: "If son of Adam had a valley full of gold, he would like to have two valleys, for nothing fills his mouth except dust"

For Non Muslims After Battles

Muhammad PBUH said: "Whoever controls his anger at a time when he is capable of letting it out, Allah, on the Day of Judgment, will call him to the forefront of all of his creatures and let him enter Paradise"

Muhammad PBUH said: "The ink of the scholar is holier than the blood of the martyr"

Muhammad PBUH said: "A man’s true wealth hereafter is the good he does in this world to his fellowmen. When he dies, people will ask, what property has he left behind him? But the angels, who examine him in the grave, will ask, “what good deeds hast thou sent before thee?”

Muhammad PBUH said: "Every good act is charity. Your smiling in your brother’s face is charity… putting a wanderer in the right path is charity; assisting the blind is charity; removing stones and thorns and other obstructions from the road is charity; giving water to the thirsty is charity"

Muhammad PBUH said: "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one.” People asked, "O Allah's Apostle! It is all right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?" The Prophet said, "By preventing him from oppressing others."

Qur'an says
Say: I am only a man like you. I have been inspired that your God is One God. So whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord.

Who was Muhammad PBUH according to legendary People.

Michael H. Hart said "My choice of Muhammad to lead the list of the world's most influential persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the religious and secular levels. Of humble origins, Muhammad founded and promulgated one of the world's great religions, and became an immensely effective political leader. Today, thirteen centuries after his death, his influence is still powerful and pervasive. The majority of the persons in this book had the advantage of being born and raised in centers of civilization, highly cultured or politically pivotal nations"

If a Muslim spoke these praises, most would pay hardly any notice. Who wouldn't speak honour and praise of the one they love, follow and admire? But praises coming from the opposition carries heavy weight. The question that needs to be put forward here is: why would someone go out their own way to speak wonders of someone who they do not follow other than to be sincere and give credit where credit is due? (Shahjahan Ahmed)
